Last month, I posted You’ve Got Mail wherein I shared the kids letter-writing/postal mail adventure. They were eager to drop their letters to my mom and my father-in-law in that huge metal mailbox.
Today, the kids got a pleasant surprise. They received a letter from their Grandpa in the mail! They were excited to open it themselves but did not want to destroy the envelope. So, I carefully opened the letter for them. Both their faces were beaming from ear to ear as they read their individual letters. I asked them what Grandpa told them in his letters and here were their responses:
Mama: What did you feel when you received a letter from Grandpa?
Jianne: I feel happy because I didn’t know it was coming. I’m also happy because Grandpa received my letter and he read all of it!
Mama: Grandpa has a lot of questions in his letter. What will you tell him?
(What’s your favorite ride in Enchanted Kingdom?)
Jianne: My favorite ride in Enchanted Kingdom is the roller coaster because I screamed very loud that my dad almost fell off his seat. Coby also screamed but in a low voice.
(When I come home I will be cooking with you, is that okay?)
Jianne: I am also going to prepare all the ingredients when he comes home for a visit. He said we will cook something. But I don’t know what he is going to cook.
(What do you want me for Christmas?)
Jianne: Grandpa, I want a toy dolphin for Christmas.
Mama: What did you feel when you received a letter from Grandpa?
Coby: I was surprised that the letter arrived. I expected it to be longer. (He counted the number of days it arrived in our mailbox) It took 12 days, Mama.
Mama: Grandpa has a lot of questions in his letter. What will you tell him?
(What was your favorite ride? Was it scary?)
Coby: My favorite ride in Enchanted Kingdom was the Rapids, where we rode down the slide. I wasn’t scared but I got wet.
(Did you eat a lot? Popcorn? Hotdogs?)
Coby: We received a treat because Papa was a teacher. They had a special gift for teachers that day. They gave us free burgers, fries and drinks. We watched Journey to the Mysterious Island in 3D. The chair was moving and it felt like we were riding a giant bumble bee. Jianne was a little scared too.
(Tell me, what do you want for Christmas?)
Coby: And Grandpa, I want a Kreo Ratchet for Christmas!
